Eveline Levi was born in London in 1849. Her father was Leman Levi, a Jeweller, born in Portsea in 1804 and her mother Elizabeth Meyer born in Holborn in 1814. Eveline was the youngest of 9 children and lived in east London with her parents and siblings. 

In 1873 she married Saunders Sloman, born in Paddington in 1848, and the youngest son of 7 children.  His father Joseph  was a general dealer in weaving apparel. Perhaps it was from him that Saunders learnt his business as a colour manufacturer. 

Eveline and Saunders had two daughters born in London,  Beatrice born in 1876 and Hettie born in 1877. Their son Leman was  born in 1880 in Wheately Oxfordshire although the family were still living in London in the 1881 census. 

By the 1891 census the family are living in  Herne Bay in Weston, Bath.  The Bath Chronicle provides a few details of their life in Bath. Leman was a good scholar winning prizes for Mathematics and Commercial Geography and played cricket for Somerset. Saunders was a member of the Weston Conservative Association, president of the Weston Quoits Club and a dog breeder. At the 1891 Birmingham Dog Show he 'was among the successful exhibitors with his grand St Bernard dog Ecceleston Oscar' and first prize at the Bath dog show in 1894 with his St Bernard King Bladud. 

Eveline's mother died in 1893 and her father in 1895. Eveline  died in Bath in 1897 of uterine cancer at the young age of 46 .

After Eveline's death, Saunders remarried Sarah Green. They moved to Bristol .
In 1901 Census, at 61 Alama Road Bristol. Saunders Sloman Colour manufacturer aged 53, Sarah wife aged 42, Beatrice daughter aged 25 and Leman son aged 21.  In the  1911 census Sarah and Saunders were visiting Abraham Jacobs and his wife Jennie in Islington. 

The death of Saunders Sloman, aged 76, was registered 1925/Q1
Barnet, London.

In the 1851 census at 3 St Mark Street, Whitechapel, London: Leman Levi, aged 41, dealer in jewellery & plate, born at Portsea (Hants), wife Elizabeth, aged 37, born at Whitechapel, nine children of which the youngest was Eveline, aged 3, born at Whitechapel, and a servant.

The death of Elizabeth Levi, aged 84, was registered 1893/Q2 Hackney.   The death of Leman Levi, aged 91, was registered 1895/Q1 Hackney. From the National Probate Calendar 1895: LEVI Leman of 18 Colvestone-crescent Dalton Middlesex gentleman died 14 March 1895 Probate London 20 April to Esther Levi spinster. Effects £4701 14s 11d.
