We know little about the child who lies here. Her father, Simon Tyler was born in Vitesbk Russian in 1867, the son of Barnett and Mary Tyler born in Russia. Minie's mother was Freda Mednikoff also born in Russia. They married in 1895 and had six children, of whom only two lived beyond childhood.

The first trace of the family in England is in Yeovil where Minnie was born in 1896. Simon is listed as a confectioner, 106 Middle Street in Kelly's 1897 Yeovil Directory.

By 1898 the family had moved to  Bath where Minnie died in March 1898. Her mother was heavily pregnant with Minnie's brother Max who was born in the summer of 1898.

Simon's occupation is provided a clue to the only information we have about the family's life in Bath. The Bath Chronicle of July 1898 included an article headlined "The Adventures of a Sweet Truck". A 14 year old boy was charged with embezzling 2s the money of 'Simeon Tyler, a Jew living at 25 Walcot Street. He explained that it was his custom to send out trucks of sweets with boys who received 2d for every shilling they sold'.

The family did not stay long in Bath. By 1901 they are living  in London  with their children Max and Sarah, aged 4 months, born in Hackney.

Although Minnie is the youngest person buried here according to the headstones, there are a number of unmarked graves containing the remains of other infant deaths.

Simon Taylor was naturalised as a British Citizen in June 1914.
